Damaged Goodz - Blissphemy

This was the first release from Damaged Goodz after leaving Powercut in 2006.

The 13 track album was produced by BJ himself with the exception of one track.

To promote the album, Damaged Goodz secured support slots in Glasgow to play on the same bill as acts like The Game, Lloyd Banks, Xhibit, Killa Kela, Ty and others. I'll post up some concert footage soon, as well as some of the backstage shenanigans.

Since the albums release BJ has now gone on to try something new, a rap/metal crossover act called 'The Paradox'.

Major Threat - Commercial Break

This is a demo tape from 1993. Back in those days all the vocals were done in one take, so if there were any mistakes it had to be done from the start again, plus there were no backing vocals added. The equipment used to record the vocals and to make the beats were very basic. It usually consisted of a set of turntables, a mixer, a cheap microphone, an Atari ST computer and 2 tape decks.

This song was put together for a gig at the Cathouse in Glasgow to support UK Hip Hop legends, Gunshot (I'll try and find a copy of the flier to scan at some point). It was at the end of this gig a young BJ from Damaged Goodz introduced himself to me to tell me he was going to start making a few demos.

Kriminal Presents - The First Offenders Mixtape

This mixtape was released back in 2004. It was in a sense an actual mixtape, as opposed to a compilation that people used to pass off as mixtape, because it seemed to be a bit of a buzz word at the time.

The CD was released to showcase the artists who were working with the label at the time. It features Big Div(whio mixed the CD), Loki, Respek BA, Mac G, Mr Hiz, Baptist, Kris The Lyricist, Hosie & Sumwun. Also the shout outs throught the CD were given by Big Div's 5 year old daughter, Lauryn.

Loki - Welcome To The Ninth World

The first full length CD from Loki, one of Glasgow's finest MC's. 'Welcome To The Ninth World' was the third release from the Kriminal stable and created quite a stir locally when it came out.

Production comes from Big Div, Sumwun, Fat Bastard, Sace & Loki himself.

Loki has came on leaps and bounds and developed into an even more talented individual since this 2003 classic.

Major Threat - The Northside E.P

This was the second release on Kriminal Recordz. It was brought out on 12" in December 2001.

The launch night was held at Hamishes Hoose, a pub located underneath Paisley Gilmour St. train station. The night had other acts playing on the bill such as Darkstorm and Home Grown Pham, but also at the open mic at the end of the gig the people in attendance witnessed a young and hungry Loki rip up a stage for the first time. A new era in Scottish Hip Hop was dawning.

Major Threat - Major Threat EP

This was the first record released on Kriminal Recordz back in late 2000. The A side had the 3 tracks:

The B side contained the instrumentals and acapellas for tracks 1 & 2.

There were only 250 copies of this pressed, which makes it quite rare come across these days.
